Here’s what you missed from Round 2 of the Shriners

The second round of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open is now in the books, and the birdies were flying at TPC Summerlin.

Here’s everything you missed from Friday’s action in Las Vegas.

Red numbers were abundant on Friday, with numerous players posting scores of six under par or better in Round 2.

Twelve under par is the current lead, and it’s shared by four players: Brian Stuard, Patrick Cantlay, Lucas Glover and Kevin Na.

Na had the best round of the day: a nine-under-par 62 that included six birdies, two eagles and one bogey.

At No. 7 in the world, Cantlay has the highest ranking of the current leaders. He’s seeking his third PGA Tour victory this week.

Phil Mickelson had a resurgent round on Thursday, which put him in the mix at the top of the leaderboard at six under par, but he didn’t capture the same magic on Friday, as he finished with a second round of two under par 69, which brought him to eight under par overall.

Still, at four shots back, Lefty is by no means out of it. On the bright side, he made six birdies on Friday. And of course, there’s always the ol’ Mickelson magic (see clip below). If he can avoid the mitigating bogeys, he could still be very much in business this weekend.

Young stud Collin Morikawa is three back at nine under par overall after a second round of 66.

Adam Scott is also only three back at nine under after a second-round 67.

Bryson DeChambeau is four back at eight under par overall, and Gary Woodland is also back in the conversation at eight under after firing a round of six under on Friday.

Koepka experienced a rare “off” week in Vegas, and needed a solid day on Friday to compensate for a meh one under par 70 on Thursday.

Alas, it wasn’t to be, and Koepka suffered a double and a bogey (and only there birdies) en route to a second round of even-par 71. At only one under par overall, Koepka ended up four shots shy of the cut line and in the bottom third of the leaderboard.

Sadly, there are always a few. At even par overall, last week’s winner Cameron Champ will bid Vegas an early farewell.

At three under par overall, Zach Johnson missed by two, and at four under par overall, Bubba Watson missed by one.
