You waited patiently all winter long, and now the 2019 Masters is officially here. The first major of the year kicks of Thursday at Augusta National. Below you can find full Masters tee times for the first round.
Tiger Woods is back in the field this week to try and win his fifth green jacket and 15th major championship. But unlike last year, all eyes are not on Tiger as we await the start of the Masters.
Rory McIlroy arrived this week as the betting favorite to win the green jacket. Rory is coming off a triumphant win at the Players Championship, the 15th PGA Tour victory of his career. If he were to end up on top this week, it would be the first Masters win of his career. Not only that, but with a victory at Augusta, McIlroy would complete the career grand slam. McIlroy begins his attempt on Thursday at 11:15 a.m. ET, and he’ll be playing with fan favorite Rickie Fowler and Cameron Smith.
But despite the betting odds, there are two players who sit above McIlroy in the Official World Golf Ranking: Dustin Johnson (No. 2) and Justin Rose, who just re-took the No. 1 spot. Neither player has won the Masters, but both are major champions and playing at the top of their games. Dustin Johnson’s tee time for the opening round is set at 1:38 p.m. ET.
As for Tiger Woods, though his play hasn’t been perfect recently, he still has a shot at winning any time he tees it up at Augusta National. The same goes for three-time champ Phil Mickelson, who has shown flashes of brilliance this year. Woods and Mickelson are among 20 former champions in the Masters field. Woods tees off for the first round at 11:04 a.m. ET on Thursday alongside Haotong Li and Jon Rahm. Mickelson will go off in the second-to-last group with Rose and Justin Thomas at 1:49 p.m. ET.
And don’t forget about defending champion Patrick Reed. Reed has had tough year following his 2018 Masters victory, but he is and will likely always be a threat at Augusta. Reed begins his title defense early on Thursday at 10:31 a.m. ET.
