Fifteen-time major champion Tiger Woods has a big announcement coming — at least that’s as much as we can surmise based on a new social media post from golf’s biggest star.

At 10:07 a.m. ET on Tuesday, a cryptic post was sent on Woods’ X account. It featured a darkened, close-up photo of Tiger, with his left eye illuminated.

It also included an equally mysterious caption: “The vision remains the same. 2.12.24”

We don’t know for certain what announcement Tiger is hinting at, but he has a lot going on in his life right now.

His new indoor TGL golf league is in the offing, but given that the first season was postponed until next year, the news is unlikely to involve TGL.

We’re also still waiting to hear when Tiger will make his official return to the PGA Tour, which could be as early as next week. Woods returned to competition briefly in December at his Hero World Challenge, but that was an unofficial tournament with a tiny field. Next week is another event he hosts, the Genesis Invitational at Riviera. But if he’s planning to tee it up at the Genesis, that news will likely come before the weekend. But he’ll be there either way.

A fresh look for Tiger? Trademark filings hint at new clothing deal with TaylorMade

Woods was also recently installed as the Player Director of the PGA Tour Advisory Board, but any big announcements about the PGA Tour and its negotiations with LIV Golf will not be broken by Tiger.

That leaves us with the most likely candidate: a new endorsement deal. Woods and Nike announced the end of their historic, decades-long partnership back in early January.

As GOLF’s Josh Sens recently reported, trademark applications for a Sunday Red brand have already been submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) by TaylorMade Lifestyle Ventures LLC.

So it appears TaylorMade is the most likely landing spot for Tiger’s apparel deal, which makes sense considering he endorses their clubs as well.

But enough with the guessing: we should learn everything next week, when Woods is expected to hold a press conference at the Genesis.
