Hero World Challenge preview

Many of golf’s top players have been taking some much-deserved time off over the past few weeks following a busy and eventful year on Tour. But now they are back in action. Twenty of the best players in the game are ready to tee it up on live TV this week for Woods’ Hero World Challenge.

Woods mounted a Sunday charge at the last playing of the Hero in 2019 (the 2020 edition was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic), but fell just short of winner Henrik Stenson. Tiger won’t be playing this week as he continues to recover from his car accident in February, but the 15-time major champion is making his first public appearance since then at the Hero.

After an opening press conference on Tuesday, Tiger will stick around to watch players like Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa and more compete at the Albany Club. Fortunately, the tournament will be televised on Golf Channel and NBC, so fans can follow along themselves from the comfort of their own homes.
