Hello friends and happy Saturday from Robert Trent Jones Golf Club! It was a busy, fun-filled day here at the Solheim Cup and morale is high heading into Sunday singles matches.

The Solheim Cup might be the most wholesome golf tournament I’ve ever attended
— Gabby Herzig (@GabbyHerzig) September 14, 2024
I said it yesterday and I’ll say it again now: the spectator vibes at the Solheim Cup are unmatched. This is the kind of event you want to bring your family to. It’s where I’d bring a friend if I had one day to turn them into a golf fan. The gallery is as supportive and positive as galleries get. I’ve seen little kids exchange Solheim Cup friendship bracelets, adults exchange contact information so they can set up a round of golf and new friends split a soft pretzel while cheering on their favorite golfers. The kind of people you want to be surrounded by seem to be the ones who go to the Solheim Cup.
Okay, on to Saturday’s action.
Wholesome moments on the first tee
The shuttle situation was sorted out before Day 2 of the Solheim Cup, which meant the first tee was bumping for the opening tee shots for both the alternate shot and fourball matches today. Karsten Solheim’s son John got the crowd pumped up when he began throwing merchandise into the stands, and Jessica Alba did the same thing a few hours later.

The fact that we’ve had a U.S. President and a star from the critically acclaimed 2011 film “Spy Kids” show up on the first tee for the afternoon matches the last two days really has me wondering who will show up on Sunday. A TikTokker? A professional athlete from another sport? The options are endless and I await the reveal with bated breath.
Also, it turns out Nelly Korda is as good of a hype woman as she is golfer. This mic’d up video of her on the first tee from the start of the afternoon matches is so, so good.
Need the people to know @NellyKorda is a hoot 😂

Alison Lee’s hole-out has Tour players talking
Alison Lee’s hole-out for eagle on No. 2 was incredible, although the caddies’ celebrations might be what people remember most.

Lee was teeing it up alongside Megan Khang, and it turns out that the pros and their loopers made a deal regarding any potential hole-outs. I’m just shocked it happened so fast.
Hilarious. A few PGA Tour players had some fun with the moment over on Twitter.
I think I’ve seen this before 😳 https://t.co/wzq2CtOLZn

Joel Dahmen was immediately reminded of the time he and Harry Higgs did something very similar at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open.

Is this type of celebration about to be the next big thing in golf? Probably (definitely) not. But it’s hilarious to see every once in a while, and Kevin Kisner promised to do the same thing if Max Homa holes out at the Presidents Cup in Montreal later this month.
I’ll do this in Montreal if you hoop one! Book it!
— Kevin Kisner (@K_Kisner) September 14, 2024
Kisner, it’s been put in writing. We’re all going to hold you accountable.
And Max, the pressure to hole out at Royal Montreal Golf Club is on. We’re all counting on you.
Junior Solheim Cup throwback photos
I am forever indebted to the American Junior Golf Association, who sent over a bunch of old photographs of current Solheim Cup team members from their days on the Junior Solheim Cup team.
Nelly Korda and Megan Khang always mention that they go way back, and these photos are pure gold.

It makes me wonder which current Junior Solheim Cup team members we’ll see on the big (well, bigger) stage in a few years time.
