The Match preview
Saturday will mark the seventh playing of The Match, and there’s plenty of intrigue heading into the event. The contestants have a combined 133 PGA Tour wins and 24 major victories between them, making this the highest-profile iteration of The Match since Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson faced off in 2018.
Longtime Match analyst and NBA legend Charles Barkley will once again be on hand to provide color commentary, while former Masters champion Trevor Immelman and host Brian Anderson join him in the booth. Kathryn Tappen will serve as on-course reporter.
And while there is no prize fund for the players competing, proceeds from The Match will be donated to a variety of charities, including those supporting relief efforts for Hurricane Ian victims.
