Hello, friends, and welcome to this edition of the Rogers Report where we are ready for the weekend to arrive at Quail Hollow! I’m eager for some Moving Day drama at the PGA Championship, and even though some fan favorites will be going home early, I have a feeling there will be some great action come Sunday.
While many of us are inspired by players like Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, I want to take a second to shout out Michael Block.
The fact that the PGA pro bowed to the crowd before carding an 11-over 82 is incredible. I’m going to start doing this on the 18th green (even though no one will be watching) when I tap in for triple-bogey. Who says you can’t live your golfing life as if you’re not a top-10 player? Not Blockie. And certainly not me.
Max Homa’s comeback
The best news out of Quail Hollow so far this week is the fact that Max Homa is back. He carded a seven-under 64 on Friday, including a 30 on the back nine. He shot a 39 on the back nine on Thursday, so there are two messages here. One is to never give up. The other is that this game is really, really weird and unpredictable.

Also, shout out to my coworker and pal Dylan Dethier for the really, really good Tweet about Homa’s play.

We’ll never know just how tough the last few months have been for Homa, but a handful of his previous press conferences have given us some insight.

“If I never have another good result again that would be a massive bummer, but … I could rest easy knowing I’m doing absolutely everything I possibly can to [win].”

Despite recent struggles, Max Homa is confident in his work ethic. 💪 pic.twitter.com/gzLWLGmthQ
I have a feeling Homa has a stretch of really good golf coming his way. Why not continue it this weekend?
Nike’s joke?
To know golf is to know that this week is the one-year anniversary of Scottie Scheffler’s arrest at Valhalla. So when I saw Scheffler arrive at Quail Hollow in orange for a practice round on Wednesday, I decided to do some investigating.
“He went to Texas” ok and he still never wears orange
— claire rogers (@kclairerogers) May 14, 2025
I scrolled back two whole years on Getty Images in search of the last time Scheffler wore deep orange. And you know what I found? Absoulutely nothing, other than his mug shot from last year. And before you say, “But he went to University of Texas!” like hundreds of people in my replies and comments, I promise you I am well aware of his alma mater. It doesn’t change the fact that he hasn’t worn that shade in years.
And then Scheffler showed up in orange again on Thursday, and I started to wonder if maybe Nike is pranking us.

This burnt orange is definitely not a color they usually dress their players in, and now everybody seems to be wearing it this week. Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy arrived to the course on Friday in the same shirt.
Lol (but also did Nike do this on purpose this week) pic.twitter.com/HLaYAL5Vp4

Is it a coincidence that Nike added orange to their scripting for the first time exactly a year after Scheffler had to wear the same color in Louisville? I personally find it hard to believe! We may never know the truth, unless someone wants to be really brave and ask Scheffler himself about it.
PGA Tour Wives’ ‘bougie’ day out
For our final segment of this Rogers Report, we have Sahith Theegala’s girlfriend, Juju Chan, to thank, because she always takes us normal people along for the wild ride that is life on the PGA Tour. This week, she took her followers o the PGA Tour Wives Association outing at the SouthPark mall in Charlotte, and it looked like the perfect day for anyone who enjoys the finer things in life.
The day started out with a lunch at the Tommy Bahama Marlin bar before quite literally shopping until they dropped. The first store the ladies attended was Vuori, where they were given a 40% off discount. You have no choice but to take advantage of a deal like that!
Next, the gals went to Anthropologie (they hit two of my favorite stores back-to-back), where they were met with champagne, custom golf cookies and a store discount.
Juju warned us that this is when the day started to get really “bougie” (her word), and she was absolutely correct. Their third stop was at Gucci, where champagne was served as the ladies looked at bags and tried on sunglasses. Next they headed to YSL, where they shut down the whole store for the PGA Tour wives. They were gifted goodie bags with their names on it as well as a card case.
The final stop of the day was at Neiman Marcus, where they were given yet more drinks and cookies (you’ve got to stay well fed and hydrated while shopping) as well as another goodie bag. And to top things off, the portraits that a photographer took of each gal at the start of the day were turned into paintings and given to each golf wife before heading home. No detail was too small for this outing!
And because Juju is a content goddess, she even provided an official haul of everything they were gifted once she got home to Florida. Unfortunately, Sahith Theegala had to withdraw due to a neck issue, but not before Juju did the Lord’s work for all of us back home.
Here’s a list of everything the PGA Tour wives were gifted:
- an LL Bean tote bag
- a portrait painting
- candle
- Tommy Bahama travel mug
- Vuori hat
- Psycho Bunny hat and pin
- Free People Movement visor
- Athleta pouch with chapstick and a hair tie
- Lacoste water bottle and water bottle holder
- Loccitaine skin care and a complimentary hand massage
- Thank-you cards
- 200-dollar gift card to Tommy Bahama
- jar of cookies
- a crossbody from Block Bag
- Tote from Vince
- Lush shower gel
- Golf tees
- Cookies from Neiman Marcus and store samples
- YSL card holder
Talk about a dream day. If you guys ever need to fill an extra spot at one of these events, I’m your gal. It’s also important to note that most the PGA Tour Wives Association’s main objective is charity on the road, so while this day was full of very nice things, it was definitely not your typical day for the association, which usually includes volunteering wherever the Tour is that week.
