A tee time at Cypress Point is on every golfer’s bucket list, but unfortunately, the world’s second-ranked course, in Pebble Beach, Calif., is private and ultra-exclusive. You generally have to be invited by a member to gain access to the grounds — except for one week later this year.
From Sept. 5-7, Cypress Point will play host to the 50th Walker Cup Match — an amateur team competition between the U.S. and Great Britain & Ireland that is played every two years. Each team has 10 players. The Match is contested over two days, with four foursomes (alternate-shot) matches played each morning followed by eight singles matches in the afternoon on the first day and 10 singles matches in the afternoon on the second day.
In 2023, at the Old Course at St. Andrews, the U.S. team won in dramatic fashion with a score of 14.5-11.5.
As one of the game’s most stunning venues, Cypress Point is expected to have high demand for tickets. So, in the interest of equity and fair distribution, the USGA announced Thursday that a lottery will be held to determine who will be able to purchase tickets.

Adult applicants may apply for up to four tickets per day (practice round, Match Day 1 and Match Day 2), and will have the option to apply for up to two complimentary junior tickets per day for attendees 17 and younger. That ticket availability will also be determined via random selection.
Lottery winners will be notified via email by the end of May and will be given a defined timeline to complete their purchase and accept their tickets. Ticket pricing is outlined below:
Practice Round (Friday, September 5): ($100/ticket – includes Flag-Raising Ceremony)
Match Day 1 (Saturday, September 6): ($200/ticket)
Match Day 2 (Sunday, September 7): ($200/ticket)
*Pricing excludes any applicable taxes or fees
To submit an application to be included in the random selection for tickets, click here by April 18th.
