Min Woo Lee calls Dr. Chipinski.
TGL
TGL’s first ever triple-header brought us a lot of amazing golf shots — and reactions.
Take Tommy Fleetwood’s unofficial ace on Bluebonnet for example. These kinds of incredible shots have made for some fun spectating for the fans inside SoFi center, and maybe even just as much fun for the viewers at home.
In addition to all the bombed drives and precise iron play, Monday’s electric triple-header also brought us five chip-ins. By the end of the day, it was hard to keep track of them all. So, I thought I’d recap and rank the insane chip-ins from TGL’s triple-header yesterday.
The criteria? I’ll be judging each chip-in based on three factors: difficulty, execution and flair.
Let’s get into it.
5. Min Woo Lee pages Dr. Chipinski

I’d love to rank this shot higher, if only for Min Woo Lee’s celebration at the end. Unfortunately, the shot itself doesn’t match the difficulty of others on this list. The Bay Golf Club was already leading Atlanta Drive Golf Club by two points, and while it may seem like a challenging shot to the armchair athletes, this textbook bump-and-run was light work for Lee’s superior short game abilities. After an incredible execution, Lee topped off his chip-in with a celebratory call to Dr. Chipinski. If we were going based on celebrations, this would be my number one.
4. Lucas Glover chips in and JT does a somersault
Although this shot was similar to the one Lee had earlier in their match, the stakes were much higher when Lucas Glover stepped up to hit this long chip off the front of the green. It was the final hole of the triples format, and Atlanta Drive Golf Club was trailing by two points. They desperately needed a spark to get them back into this match. Then, Glover steps up and hits the perfect chip. As the ball rolled in, the crowd erupted and teammate Justin Thomas even did a somersault. But what made this shot truly impressive was Glover’s calm demeanor after holing out. Instead of celebrating, he simply picked up his clubs, showing that for him, this was just another day in the office.
3. Keegan sinks a high-lofted shot over the bunker

Keegan Bradley’s chip-in had it all: difficulty, pressure and a solid celebration with his teammates. That’s why I ranked this as the third-best chip-in from yesterday’s TGL matches. To set the stage, Boston Common Golf was down by one heading into the singles showdown, and was in need of a morale boost. Bradley’s approach into the par-5 flew the green but managed to hold on, narrowly avoiding the penalty area a few yards further. His second shot left him a tricky 74-yard pitch over a bunker that he’d have to land on a downhill lie. However, this was no match for Bradley’s wedge game. His high-lofted shot landed softly on the green, bounced a couple times and trickled into the hole. With that hole-out, Bradley clinched the hole and brought the match back to even, giving his team a lot of good momentum with just five holes to play.
2. Justin Thomas’s greenside save sends the match into overtime
JT’s chip-in might have been the most thrilling of the day. It was the final hole of the singles showdown, and Atlanta Drive Golf Club was down by one point. Thomas’ opponent, Sahith Theegala, had just taken two shots to escape the bunker, opening the door just enough for Thomas, who was sitting two as he stood over a seemingly simple uphill chip. Then, the unthinkable happened. Thomas left it short, and the ball tumbled back toward his feet. After a moment of anger, he set up for a shot almost identical to the one he’d just mis-hit. But, this time, the pressure didn’t faze him. Thomas executed the chip perfectly. The ball rolled quickly across the green, hitting the back of the cup with authority. And with that miraculous shot, Thomas sent the match into overtime.

This was an easy choice. After experiencing one of the weirdest occurrences in TGL history a couple weeks ago, Tommy Fleetwood finally had his redemption. The Englishman was on a hot streak during his TGL match against Atlanta Drive Golf Club, even putting on a short game clinic during the closest-to-the-pin contest. During overtime, the players faced a tough uphill pitch to a tricky hole location perched atop a plateau on the green. Fleetwood, however, chose a different approach than the players before him. Instead of landing his shot long, he used his knowledge and finesse around the greens to leave his shot short and let it roll up and trickle in. While his wedge wielding skills may have earned him a point, it wasn’t enough to clinch the match. But, his remarkable performance around the greens did earn him the number one spot on this list, so that’s something… I guess.
I can’t wait to see how tonight’s match between Jupiter Links Golf Club and New York Golf Club compares to the excitement we enjoyed yesterday.
