Scheffler complained of “rust” on his game after returning from injury at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. But what Scheffler considers rusty should make every other pro nervous. The World No. 1 put together a 15-under score at Pebble for a T9-finish to start the season. Scheffler opens this week with +300 odds to win.
The next closest player on the odds list is Justin Thomas, who comes in at a very distant second with +1200 odds. Hideki Matsuyama, who won the season-opening Sentry tournament and is second in the FedEx Cup race, is next at +1600.
Rounding out the top five in odds for the WM Phoenix Open are Sungjae Im (+2200) and Sam Burns (+2500).
