There’s a loaded field at the Procore Championship this week, and you probably know why. Keegan Bradley (who is not playing) is there with 10 members of his U.S. Ryder Cup squad that will take on the Europeans at Bethpage Black later this month.
It’s part tune-up, part team-building, and it also goes a long way in changing the makeup of a sleepy fall tournament, one that usually doesn’t bring in many of the game’s most highly ranked players. For example, last year Sahith Theegala and Wyndham Clark were the pre-tournament betting favorites at +1100.
This year? It’s that Scottie Scheffler guy, who has absurd +210 odds to win.

The next best odds, according to Fanatics Sportsbook, are Justin Thomas and Russell Henley, who are both +1600 to win.
Henley is also the outright pick to win of Subpar podcast co-host Colt Knost.
“I’m going with a guy who has been as hot as anybody on Tour all season long,” Knost said. “This is a good course that’s not the longest, pretty narrow fairways, can get really firm. You got to be a ball-striker, great putter, he’s going off at [+1600].”
Subpar co-host Drew Stoltz also picked a U.S. Ryder Cup player to win: Sam Burns (+2000).
“I’m going to go with a guy that I believe was probably the last man in on the Ryder Cup, coming down to if Keegan would play or not,” Stoltz said. “He’s one of — if not the best — putters on the planet and finished the year strong, 4th and 7th in his last two playoff events.”
As for their favorite bets of the week, Knost picked Collin Morikawa to top 10 (+230) and Stoltz selected amateur Jackson Koivun to top 20 (+190).
