The 2025 Open Championship doesn’t start until next week, but you’d be forgiven for thinking this week’s Tour event was the final major of the year instead. That’s because the Genesis Scottish Open is located in a frequent host country for the Open, Scotland. And it features a stellar field.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler leads the way as the betting favorite with +350 odds-to-win. After a slow start to the season, Scheffler suddenly has three wins, including his third major triumph at the 2025 PGA Championship.

In the final round of the 2025 John Deere Classic, Brian Campbell carded a 4-under 67 to finish at 18-under for the tournament, before defeating Emiliano Grillo in a one-hole playoff to claim his second win of the season and of this PGA TOUR career.
To capture his fourth win of the year this week, he’ll have to get past the man just behind him in pre-tournament betting odds: Rory McIlroy.
Though his game has not been sharp since winning the 2025 Masters in April, McIlroy also has three wins on the season, and he won the 2023 Scottish Open. His odds-to-win this week start at +750.
There’s a large gap between Scheffler and McIlroy and the player in third on the odds list, Xander Schauffele. The two-time major champion comes into the week with +2000 odds-to-win.
Tommy Fleetwood (+2200) is in fourth, with Collin Morikawa rounding out the top 5 at +2500. Defending champion Robert MacIntyre is among the top 10 with +3250 odds-to-win.
