The PGA Tour’s Texas Swing ends this week with the 2024 Valero Texas Open in San Antonio, and we’re picking a player who lives in Texas and has yet to win a Tour event as our long shot. Here’s our pick, the Valero Texas Open odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know.

Valero Texas Open odds: Long-shot bet

For this week’s Texas Open, we’re picking a University of Texas grad who calls Austin home as our long-shot to win. That player is 29-year-old Beau Hossler, who comes into the week with +6600 odds to win.

Hossler has three runner-up finishes in his PGA Tour career, but he has never entered the winner’s circle. He’s had a solid start to the season so far, collecting one top 10 with a T6 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open, in addition to two other top 25s. In seven starts, he’s only missed two cuts.

While Hossler finished a disappointing 46th at last year’s Texas Open, he did earn a T4 two years ago at the 2022 tournament.

If you bet $10 on Hossler to capture his first victory and he does it, you’ll earn $660. For insurance, consider placing additional small bets on Hossler to finish top 10 and top 20.
