Bot the U.S. and International squads are now fully set for the 2024 Presidents Cup, which begins later this month north of the border at Royal Montreal Golf Club, after captain’s picks were unveiled on Tuesday.

In a joint announcement televised on Golf Channel Tuesday afternoon, U.S. captain Jim Furyk and International captain Mike Weir each made their six captain’s selections, filling out their rosters of 12 golfers each.

Furyk, the 2018 U.S. Ryder Cup captain, selected Sam Burns (7th in the U.S. points standings), Tony Finau (8th), Russell Henley (9th), Keegan Bradley (10th), Brian Harman (11th) and Max Homa (12th). They join World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schuaffele, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay and Sahith Theegala, who made the team as automatic qualifiers through the points list.

Henley and Harman will join Theegala in making their first appearances in the Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal. Harman made his professional international team match debut last year in the Ryder Cup.

Bradley, who was announced over the summer as the 2025 Ryder Cup captain and won the BMW Championship last month, was initially appointed as an assistant captain for the team, but Furyk said Bradley will be relieved of that role now that he has played his way on the team.

Not selected for the team was Justin Thomas, who was controversially selected for last year’s Ryder Cup after not making the FedEx Cup Playoffs last season. This year he returned to East Lake for the Tour Championship and posted the 7th-best gross score last week, but it wasn’t enough to earn a pick from Furyk. It’s his first time being left off a cup team in eight years.

Weir, who beat Tiger Woods in singles the last time the matches were in his home country in 2007, picked fellow Canucks Corey Conners (7th), Taylor Pendrith (11th) and Mackenzie Hughes (15th), as well as South Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout (10th), Australia’s Min Woo Lee (9th) and South Korea’s Si Woo Kim (14th). The international auto qualifiers were Hideki Matsuyama, Sungjae Im, Adam Scott, Tom Kim, Jason Day and Beyong Hun An.

The International squad is made up with players from five countries, led by four South Koreans and three each from Canada and Australia.

Weir made the surprising decision to leave off two more Canadians, Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin, who were 12th and 13th on the International Team points list, ahead of picks Hughes and Kim. Taylor became a national hero in Canada last year when he became the first Canadian to win the RBC Canadian Open since 1954. He’d also won in February at the WM Phoenix Open, but hadn’t recorded a top-10 since.

Hughes, Bezuidenhout and Lee are all making their debut for the International squad while Conners, Pendrith and Kim were all on the 2022 team that lost to the Americans at Quail Hollow. During those matches, Kim led the International team with 3 points off a 3-1-0 record. Meanwhile, Conners and Pendrith each failed to earn a point, both going 0-4-0.

The Presidents Cup runs Sept. 26-29 at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The U.S. has a 12-1-1 record over the Internationals in the matches.
