The 2024 Sony Open kicks off Thursday afternoon with the opening round at Waialae Country Club in Hawaii. Here’s what you need to know to watch Round 1 on TV or online, including a full Sony Open Thursday TV schedule.
Previewing Round 1
The field at the Sony Open is headlined by two major winners ranked within the top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking, and both of them have already gotten off to solid starts in the new 2024 season. Matt Fitzpatrick, who won the 2022 U.S. Open and is currently ranked No. 8 in the world, finished T14 at last week’s Sentry shootout with a score of 22 under.
A few strokes ahead of him was reigning Open champion and World No. 9 Brian Harman, who ended up at 25 under in the opening event, good enough for a T5 result.
Now the two major champs will take on Sony Open in Hawaii, and they’ll play the first two rounds alongside each other. Fitzpatrick and Harman will set out for Round 1 at 12:50 p.m. ET on Thursday. They’ll be joined by Justin Rose.
You can watch the Sony Open on Thursday via Golf Channel beginning at 7 p.m. ET. In addition, Peacock will provide a live simulcast of Golf Channel’s coverage, and ESPN+ will stream featured group coverage.
