After firing rounds of 64-65, Patrick Cantlay took a commanding five-shot lead at the Genesis Invitational’s halfway point. But a third-round 70 left the door a bit ajar for his competitors. Xander Schauffele and Will Zalatoris have climbed within two shots of Cantlay’s lead with one round left.
The Genesis marks the third of eight Signature Events on the schedule this season, meaning there’s a lot of dough on the line on Sunday. The winner’s share: an eye-popping $4 million of a $20 million purse. In fact, the top four players at Riviera will clear seven figures.

Of course, the action won’t be limited to the trio at the top. Luke List, Jason Day and Harris English are within striking distance too, each trailing Cantlay’s lead of 14 under par by four shots or less. It’s impossible to predict who will come out on top, but one thing’s for sure: it’ll be fun to watch.
