2024 Farmers Insurance Open Friday tee times: Round 3 groupings

The 2024 Farmers Insurance Open continues on Friday with the third round at Torrey Pines’ famous South Course. You can find full Farmers Insurance Open tee times for the third round at the bottom of this post.

Featured grouping for Round 3

Nicolai Hojgaard, thanks to his 11-under total through two rounds, is second, and he is one of the features of the featured group. It’s just that he might be mildly interested in the groups behind him. 

Yes, there’ll be talent chasing him and leader Stephan Jaeger. But it’s more he hasn’t seen much of Torrey Pines, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Hojgaard at least casually watched some of the early coverage. 

After playing the past two weeks in Dubai, he flew into San Diego. He’s slept little. He played just nine holes on the North Course during his one practice round. He played the South only during the first round. He played all of the North only on Thursday. And that’s it. He’s a bit of a Torrey newbie. Which begs the question:

Did he have a thought as to why he’s been playing the course well, despite not playing the course?

“It’s a good question,” he said Thursday. “Sometimes not knowing where the trouble is is a good thing, but now I know so it’s going to be different on the weekend probably. 

“You can see most of the course, so it’s about trusting the execution part of it a little bit more. I think that’s very important at times that you focus on that more than just looking at the golf course, what you’re supposed to do, and go internal and focus on yourself and your own ball-striking and trying to put it in the fairway. I feel like sometimes that’s a bit underrated and I feel like this week it’s been the main focus.”
