The final major of the year is here, and the palpable anticipation is worthy of the moment. This year’s Open Championship heads back to Royal Liverpool, where Rory McIlroy hoisted the Claret Jug back in 2014.

Coming off a win last week, McIlroy is the betting favorite to claim his second-career Open title this week. Some of the stiffest competition he faces may come from his own grouping.

World No. 3 Jon Rahm, the reigning Masters champion, will play alongside McIlroy for the first two rounds, as will 2013 U.S. Open champion Justin Rose.

The three major champions will open Thursday’s first round in the later wave of tee times at 9:59 a.m. ET.
