The anticipation is finally over because the 2023 Masters has arrived.
This year, 88 players will descend upon the hallowed grounds of Augusta National Golf Club to compete for the green jacket.
The Masters is an invitational event, meaning Augusta National can invite whoever they would like, but the tournament field has generally been made up of the 19 exemption categories listed below. This year, the club has also handed out two special invitations to Japan’s Kazuki Higa and reining NCAA Champion Gordon Sargent.
A top storyline this week will also be the 18 LIV Golfers who are in the field this week. This is the first Masters since the upstart Saudi-backed tour launched last summer.
And unlike last year, there is less speculation about whether five-time champion Tiger Woods is teeing it. All indications point to Woods taking part in the year’s first major after making a regular PGA Tour start earlier this year at the Genesis Invitational.
Woods will tee it up with the likes of other pre-tournament favorites like Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler and Cam Smith who are battling to etch their name into the history books with a win at one of the game’s most revered venues.
The full Masters field is listed below along with the exemption categories below that.
