When Xander Schauffele triumphed at last year’s Scottish Open, it was his third victory in three months, and he was on top of the golf world.
Fast-forward one year, and Schauffele hasn’t entered the winner’s circle again. As a result, he comes in tied for third in the pre-tournament betting odds, with World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy appearing above him.
But Schauffele isn’t playing poorly, far from it. He’s accumulated nine top-10s and earned a runner-up at the Wells Fargo Championship. Now he’ll try to use his positive memories from last year to pull off his second-straight win in Scotland.
Schauffele tees off for the opening round on Thursday morning at 2:59 a.m. ET alongside McIlroy and Justin Thomas. You can stream Thursday’s first round via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ beginning at 2:45 a.m. ET or watch the action on Golf Channel starting at 10:30 a.m. ET.
