The third round of the Zurich was a birdie fest from start to finish. With the players competing in the four ball format, in which teammates play their own balls and take the best score between them per hole, a lot of teams went low. One of those teams happened to already be in the lead before the round began.
Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele, who starred together at the 2021 Ryder Cup last fall, shot a 12-under 60 on Saturday to build a big five-shot lead heading into Sunday’s final round. One thing is for sure, with alternate shot coming back for Round 4, scores are definitely going to be higher. We’ll see if anyone can make up enough ground to catch the leaders.
Cantlay and Schauffele will get their final round going on Sunday at 1:50 p.m. ET alongside their closest chasers, Garrick Higgo and Branden Grace. You can stream the final round via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+, or watch the telecasts on Golf Channel and CBS.
