Featured pairing for BMW Round 1
Will Zalatoris has been a mainstay near the top of leaderboards throughout his short career on the PGA Tour. But despite being a household name among golf fans already, the 26-year-old star had never found himself at the very top of the leaderboard at the end of the tournament. Until last week, that is.
Zalatoris captured his first PGA Tour win in dramatic fashion on Sunday at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and his timing couldn’t have been better. With the St. Jude acting as the first FedEx Cup Playoff event this year, Zalatoris’ win rocketed him from 12th to 1st in the FedEx Cup standings, putting the $18 million grand prize in his sights.
But before he gets to next week’s lucrative Tour Championship, Zalatoris has to hold his own at this week’s BMW Championship. And for the first two rounds in Delaware, Zalatoris will be paired with the man he narrowly passed in the standings: World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.
Zalatoris and Scheffler will kick of their opening rounds on Thursday at 2:40 p.m. ET. You can stream Thursday’s first round via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+.
