Cameron Davis, JT Poston and Sergio Garcia set the stage for a red-hot Sunday afternoon at the Sanderson Farms Championship, but the trio is playing for plenty more than bragging rights. Here’s what you need to know about the purse at the Country Club of Jackson, including payout information and winner’s share.
Sanderson Farms Championship Preview
Davis, Poston and Garcia are tied for the lead at 14 under heading into the final round on Sunday after an action-filled moving day in Mississippi. Davis — who vaulted himself into the final pairing on Sunday with a third-round 63 — saw an improvement of 10 strokes on his score from Friday to Saturday. The 25-year-old Australian is searching for his first-ever PGA Tour victory on Sunday, looking to join Poston with one career win.
Sergio, on the other hand, is looking to grab career win number 36 with his eyes closed, literally. The 40-year-old Spaniard admitted earlier this week that he has been closing his eyes at impact while putting for several years. Coincidentally, Garcia is in pursuit of his first win on North American soil since the Masters in 2017. We’ll let you determine whether the relationship is correlation or causation, but a win on Sunday would give Garcia his first professional win of any kind since the KLM Open a year ago.
Below is the payout information and winner’s share for the Sanderson Farms’ $6.6 million purse; you can catch all the action Sunday on Golf Channel beginning at 4:00 p.m. ET.
