Sunday at the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship might not feature the big-name leaderboard we saw last week at the U.S. Open, but that doesn’t mean the stakes are much lower.
Adam Long (-17) leads the field by two strokes through 54 holes, outdueling the likes of Mackenzie Hughes, Hudson Swafford and Sean O’Hair atop the leaderboard.
Long’s stranglehold on the lead comes largely thanks to a brilliant performance to open the weekend — an eight-under, third-round 64 during which he drained six birdies in eight holes. While he’s taken advantage of slightly easier conditions than the ones at Winged Foot, perhaps some of Long’s performance can be attributed to the six-puttable greens of a week ago. The 33-year-old finished his Saturday round with nine one-putts over his last 10 holes, and has been lights out with the flatstick all week.
Closely trailing on the leaderboard is Hudson Swafford, who entered the weekend with the lead but was leapfrogged by Long’s superb performance on Saturday. Swafford will look to climb into contention Sunday, while both he and Long search for their second PGA Tour victory.
Below is the payout information and winner’s share for the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship’s $4 million purse; you can catch all the action Sunday on NBC from 3-6:00 p.m. ET.
