If you want to hit the ball well, you need to have a proper grip. But is it better to grip the club more in your palms or in your fingers? Three GOLF Top 100 Teachers explain.

Tim Cooke

In the fingers. But firmly in the fingers. None of this “grip the club like it’s a little bird” stuff, especially if you’re a fast swinger.

Brady Riggs

When gripping any club, use your entire hand! If the handle is too much in your palms, you’ll negate wrist hinge. Too much in your fingers, and, suddenly, you add unwanted tension.

Trillium Rose

To me, the answer is a no-brainer: Go with a grip that’s more in your fingers than your palms. It’ll instantly give you a better feel for the weight of the clubhead and more control when you swing.
