With the right golf shoes, you can produce more power and speed in your swing — you just need to look for a few key features.

GOLF

You may not realize it, but your golf shoes are an extension of your equipment and with the right gear, you can even produce more power and speed — you just need to look for a few key features.

The first design component to look for is a propulsion plate, or a power plate. The design of the plate enhances energy return to the wearer by compressing and expanding the midsole foam more quickly, which shoots the energy back to the wearer. Without this feature, your energy would otherwise be lost.

Second on the list is traction. This is a crucial aspect of any golf shoe because shoes with enhanced traction help you control your linear motion, resist rotational movement and grip the turf to harness vertical ground forces completely.

Better traction will also allow you to swing hard without worrying about slipping, which will increase your confidence on the course. And good news for players that prefer spikeless shoes, there are plenty of spikeless golf shoes on the market that offer enhanced traction.

The last element your golf shoes should have is comfort. Whether you prefer to ride or walk your rounds, your shoes should be able to keep up with you and your game. Look for golf shoes with responsive cushioning and high performance insoles, which can increase your support and even help prevent injuries.

Comfort also means dry feet, so look for shoes that are constructed from a waterproof material (extra points if it’s breathable).

If you need a good place to start, check out the shoes below from Payntr (two of which are on sale), as they’re created with all of these components and more.
