The major championships are the biggest four weeks of the year for golf. That much is obvious. But with more eyeballs, more intrigue and more attention from the broader sports populous than any other week of the year, the majors are also big weeks for the golf gear industry.

It’s for this reason that many of the industry’s biggest players take time each year to release exclusive, custom gear to celebrate the majors — and Winged Foot’s no different.

Callaway released these sweet custom bags and headcovers that can only fall under one descriptor: eye-popping. The bags will be used by Callaway staffers like Xander Schauffele and Kevin Na as they try to slash their way through the wild rough and slippery greens at Winged Foot. Callaway’s U.S. Open bags are Pop Art-themed, inspired by the beloved art form developed down the road from Mamaroneck in New York City in the 1950s. Pop Art was popularized for its colorful, vibrant expression of popular culture — a theme perfectly portrayed in the various New York iconography incorporated within the bag and headcovers.

But for as cool as the limited-edition bags are, they raise the question: shouldn’t art be accessible to everyone? Callaway agrees, which is why it’s giving away one of its U.S. Open bags for free. There may not be many winners at Winged Foot this week, but there’s guaranteed to be one here. Why not you?
