Titleist, if you hadn’t heard, launched its new CNCPT CP-03 and CP-04 irons on Thursday. They’re made with an expensive and rare “Super Metal” face insert, and they’re packed with technologies such as hollow cavities and Tungsten weights to improve distance and forgiveness.
The irons also have $500 price tags (per iron!), so we were anxious to try them out. How would they compare versus our gamers in a head-to-head test?
To find out, GOLF Senior Equipment Editor Andrew Tursky (2 handicap) and 8AM Golf content creator DJ Lantz (0 handicap) hit their gamer irons against both the CP-03 and CP-04 irons at True Spec Golf in Scottsdale. They hit two shots with each club on a launch monitor and compared the results.
Watch the video at the top of the story to see just how much distance Tursky and Lantz gained on average after just two swings.
