As an Arizona transplant, I admit I’m a full-fledged fair-weather golfer. Once the temperature drops below 50 degrees, I find it hard to muster the energy to be outside for any length of time — especially multiple hours on the golf course.
But a recent trip to Pinehurst — where the temps dipped below 40 degrees in the morning! — for GOLF’s Top 100 Teacher Summit helped me realize that I am capable of playing in the cold — all you have to do is dress for it.
Luckily, modern winter golf apparel is loaded with technology to keep your body warm without the bulk. Gone are the days of feeling like the Michelin Man on the first tee. Instead, with strategic layering, you can feel both cozy and flexible — not mention fashionable. A win-win!
Check out some of my favorite warm pieces for women below, which you can purchase a la carte or combine to create the perfect winter golf outfit. And while you’re shopping, take a scroll through the rest of the items on offer in GOLF’s Pro Shop — your one-stop shop for everything you need for your game, from the latest apparel and shoes to training aids, clubs and more.

As a four-year member of Columbia’s inaugural class of female varsity golfers, Jessica can out-birdie everyone on the masthead. She can out-hustle them in the office, too, where she’s primarily responsible for producing both print and online features, and overseeing major special projects, such as GOLF’s inaugural Style Issue, which debuted in February 2018. Her original interview series, “A Round With,” debuted in November of 2015, and appeared in both in the magazine and in video form on GOLF.com.
