It took me all of five seconds to say yes when the possibility of a golf trip with my college roommates came up. A couple days in Arizona playing golf with my best friends? Sign me up.
But as anyone who’s been on a buddies trip knows, golf on these boondoggles is a little different than your typical weekend game. The drinks are flowing, the tunes are blasting and what you shoot doesn’t really matter. It’s all about having a good time and spending time with your friends. I call it vacation golf.
One of the most crucial aspects of vacation golf is having a proper speaker for the cart. That’s why when I was packing for this trip, I knew I had to bring my Bushnell Wingman View.
I Tried It: This magnetic mount made my phone accessible and secureBy: Jessica Marksbury
You see, the Wingman View isn’t just any portable speaker. No, this speaker is built by golfers, for golfers, and it’s the perfect accessory to bring along when you’re playing vacation golf. Just mount it to the cart using the magnets on the side of the speaker and blast your favorite tunes all round long.
Not only does this speaker provide great sound quality, it also gives you intel on the course you’re playing. Thanks to its pairing capability with the Bushnell Golf app, you can get accurate yardages to the front, middle and back of each green on every hole. Best of all, these yardages appear right on the screen on the front of the speaker.
This yardage feature is perfect for when you’re playing a course that doesn’t have GPS built in on the carts or if you don’t want to bring the rangefinder out of the bag. Plus, with the detachable magnetic remote, you can control the volume or get accurate yardages even when you’re away from the cart.
The speaker boasts a 10-hour battery life, so there’s no need to charge it up after every round. Better yet, the Wingman View has a built-in USB port so you can charge your phone on the course if it’s ever running low on juice.
After using the Wingman View for three rounds on my latest buddies trip, I can safely say that the device will be a fixture on all trips to come. Check it out below to get your own.
