GOLF.com Review: These FootJoy golf socks keep your feet snug, dry and comfortable

February 4, 2020

Welcome to GOLF.com’s “Best Of” review series, where one of GOLF’s editors reviews new, interesting and helpful products from around the golf world. This week: FootJoy’s FJ ProDry Sport socks.

Background

FootJoy — one of the world’s most recognizable golf brands — started out in the shoe business way back in 1857. By 1927, Walter Hagen’s Ryder Cup team was wearing FootJoys. In 1979, the company began making gloves, and in 1981, FJ released its first socks as the brand’s third core category. In the years since, offerings have expanded to include virtually every category of apparel and gear, including outerwear, headwear and other accessories.

The Product

The ProDry Sport sock takes moisture-wicking seriously — “dry” is a part of the product name, after all! — and the socks achieve their goal with FootJoy’s “DrySof” technology, which helps lift moisture and vapor off and away from the skin. Comfort is ensured via a stretchy lycra and spandex-blend fabric while a double-layered heel adds durability and additional support.

Does it live up to the hype?

One of the things I love most about the ProDry Sport is its simplicity. There aren’t any real bells and whistles — it’s just a reliable, high-quality golf sock that fits well, feels great and keeps your feet dry throughout not just a round, but a day. It’s a sock that has withstood the test of time. And add to that the affordable price — only $9 a pair — and I’m completely sold.
