With a new way of creating a lightweight chassis using two types of carbon fiber fused into one, the Callaway Paradym driver series promises to shift performance for golfers into high gear.

The Paradym driver lineup — which comes in three models to help you find your best fit — incorporates proven technologies that Callaway has refined to blend greater forgiveness with more distance. The main attribute of the Paradym is the 360 Carbon Chassis that eliminates any titanium from the driver’s body to push mass to where it can best help the target player.

The sole is made from a forged composite (a material Callaway has used in the past, though not to this extent) to create extensive surface area coverage. The sole is fused to the Triaxial Carbon crown and together is 44 percent lighter than a traditional titanium driver body.

While the body provides forgiveness, the ball has to hit something. For the first time since introducing its A.I.-designed Jailbreak system, Callaway has completely revamped the technology to further enhance stability, and more importantly, tighten downrange dispersion.

What that means in its simplest form is that by changing the geometry on the back of the face — using thick and thin areas paired with a new cup face — the start line and direction from mishits are minimized, leading to straighter shots that end up closer to the target.

Paradym drivers

The standard Paradym model is best suited to fit the widest range of golfers, by offering the most adjustability of the three with the help of a sliding weight track at the rear of the driver, along with the proven adjustable hosel.

The Paradym driver comes in lofts of 9°, 10.5°, and 12°

The Paradym X is designed for extreme forgiveness, created by removing the sliding weight adjustability and replacing it with a single rear weight along the perimeter. The Paradym X is the highest launching of the three drivers and offers a slight draw bias.

Paradym Triple Diamond is for players on the highest end of the swing speed and spin bell curve who want more control from a compact (450cc) profile. To help reduce spin, the driver is shorter front to back and comes with adjustable front and rear weights to further dial in spin to the desired window.

Just like with the Paradym drivers, the 2023 Callaway fairway woods continue in their respective model lines with Paradym, Paradym X and Paradym Triple Diamond.

Also in line with the drivers, the standard model is intended to fit the most players; the Paradym X is the most forgiving shape with a slight draw bias; and the Triple Diamond is for stronger players looking to lower flight and spin.

What makes these fairway woods stand out compared to previous lines is the reintroduction of adjustability into the 3-woods of the Paradym and X models, with the Triple Diamond offering adjustability in all available lofts.

This was a direct result of feedback from fitters, professionals and consumers who wanted adjustability to match the driver and the option to better fine-tune flight characteristics in their fairway woods — see, folks, OEMs are listening.

From a construction standpoint, the fairway woods have a new A.I. Designed Jailbreak Batwing Structure to push mass away from the face and the middle of the head to position it around the outside for increased MOI and total body rigidity. This is possible thanks to the forged composite sole in the Paradym model, and smaller carbon panels in the X and Triple Diamond heads.

When this rigidity is paired with the forged face cup, it helps to offer extra ball speed on shots hit around the face and more specifically low where players tend to miss.

All three of the Paradym fairway woods are $349.99 each and will be available in retail stores on Feb. 24, 2023. Pick up all your new gear at Fairway Jockey.
