It’s been a whirlwind two months for the new TGL indoor golf league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. With the playoffs well underway, we now know which teams will face off in the TGL finals to determine the first-ever league champion. Here’s everything you need to know.
The 2025 TGL season featured six teams. Each played five regular-season matches, garnering points via wins and overtime losses to determine the four teams that would make the playoffs. Tiger’s Jupiter Links Golf Club team finished fifth in the regular season and missed the playoffs. McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf team went winless and finished last.

The four teams that advanced to the playoffs faced off in two semifinals matches, and both featured big upsets. On Monday March 17, New York Golf Club shocked the top-seeded Los Angeles Golf Club team 6-4 to become the first team to qualify for the finals.
Then on Tuesday night, March 18, Atlanta Drive Golf Club, the third seed, upset second-seeded Bay Golf Club 9-3 to claim the other spot in the finals.
While the semifinals featured single-elimination matches, the TGL finals will be different. New York Golf Club and Atlanta Drive Golf Club will compete in a best-of-three series of matches to determine the ultimate champion.
The first TGL finals match will take place on Monday, March 24, at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and ESPN+. The second finals match will go down the next night, Tuesday, March 25, at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN and ESPN+.
If one team wins both of those matches, they will be declared the champion, and a third match will not be played. But if New York and Atlanta split the first two matches, they’ll face off in a third and final match immediately following the second match to determine the winner. If it happens, Match 3 will begin on the 25th at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
The total purse for the 2025 TGL season is $21 million. But that amount will not be split equally among all six teams.
Whichever team comes out on top of the best-of-three finals series between New York Golf Club and Atlanta Drive Golf Club will take home the winner’s share of $9 million. That will be split between all four players on the winning team, equaling $2.25 million each.
Whoever loses the finals will earn the second-place prize worth $4.5 million, or $1.125 million per player.
1st – $9,000,000 ($2,250,000 per player)
2nd – $4,500,000 ($1,125,000 per player)
3rd – $2,250,000 ($562,500 per player)
4th – $2,000,000 ($500,000 per player)
5th – $1,750,000 ($437,500 per player)
6th – $1,500,000 ($375,000 per player)
