For years, the Players Championship host has boasted one of the highest public greens fees in all of golf. It might not be the most expensive course you can play in the U.S. — looking at you, Shadow Creek in Las Vegas — but it will certainly dent your wallet.
TPC Sawgrass, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., has two courses, Dye’s Valley and the Players Stadium Course. While the Dye’s Valley course — which hosts PGA Tour Q-School — has rates starting at $325 per player for peak times (September to May), the Stadium Course starts at $550 from June to August but is $750 during that September-to-May window.
But that $750 rate is just the starting price. TPC Sawgrass uses dynamic pricing, and you can book online up to a month in advance. In the next month, the peak price is $850 for certain days or time slots, although you can expect that rate to increase when you get to Florida’s peak season after the summer. We first saw prices jump to $900 in October 2023.

All these rates include range balls, a cart and a forecaddie. (If you take a cart, it’s cart-path only.) You can also walk, but then you’ll need a walking caddie. A single premium caddie is $130, but a double-bag caddie (one caddie carrying two bags ) is $85 per player.
Both a forecaddie and a walking caddie deserve tips, too. The TPC Sawgrass site suggests a gratuity of $40 per golfer for a forecaddie and $50 per golfer for a walking looper.
If you are looking to pull the trigger and play TPC Sawgrass, you’d be wise to browse vacation packages, where starting prices range from $1,022 to $2,244. They include things such as accommodations at Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, meals and discounted rounds at other TPC Sawgrass courses.
The Players Championship moved to TPC Sawgrass’ Stadium Course in 1982, a year after it opened. The Pete Dye design ranks 48th on GOLF’s Top 100 Courses in the U.S., but it’s 8th on GOLF’s latest list of the Top 100 Courses You Can Play.
The Stadium Course’s par-3, island-green on 17 remains one of the most famous holes in golf. For more on TPC Sawgrass rates, click here.
