Last week PXG announced their newest line of irons and wedges when they revealed the 0311P and 0311XP Gen7 irons, Black Ops irons and Sugar Daddy III forged wedges. This early announcement offered a first look at the clubs and as tradition gave priority access to members of their PXG hero program.
Now that the new PXG irons and wedges are out in the wild, we’re here to give you all the technology details behind these clubs that push them to the USGA limit and give golfers more forgiveness, speed and feel.
0311P & XP Gen7 irons
The newest 0311P and XP Gen7 players’ distance irons continue the distinctive looks and aggressive styling that have become synonymous with PXG’s irons, but as much as the style has been upgraded, even more advancements have taken place on the inside of these irons to push them right to the USGA limit.
Inside the new 0311 Gen7 irons is PXG’s most innovative polymer system yet — QuantumCOR, which is the result of a continuous push by PXG engineers to find a material that delivers speed and rebound capabilities without ever sacrificing the soft signature PXG feel.
This new QuantumCOR material along with the extremely thin face construction has created the largest single ball speed and distance jump from generation to generation in PXG’s history.
Another stand-out new construction feature of the 0311P and 0311XP Gen7 irons is a titanium ring around the signature middle weight used to fine-tune swing weight and feel. Replacing the standard steel weight housing with a lightweight and high-strength titanium insert saves roughly 5 grams which can be redistributed inside of the head to increase forgiveness.
Add in the 20 grams of dense tungsten placed low and in the toe of the irons and you get PXG’s most stable line of 0311 irons to date.
The PXG 0311P and XP Gen7 irons are available now and start at $229.99 for the chrome finish. They will also be available in Extreme Dark for $239.99 each.

Black Ops irons
The newest Black Ops irons are unique in PXG’s lineup because they’re a stand-alone game improvement offering designed to compete in the competitive game improvement market. Beyond just being long and forgiving, the Black Ops irons have been designed with a supreme focus on providing golfers with a much softer feel at impact compared to other options in the category.
As for technology, the dual cavity design iron is filled with PXG’s XCOR2 material to save weight while the wider sole and topline provide extra stability across and up and down on the face to stabilize ball speeds and spin. Speaking of the face, the Black Ops has a 4.3% larger hitting area than the previous 0311 Gen6 irons which helps to create more flex for great ball speeds.
The Black Ops irons start at $149.99 each and are available now.

Sugar Daddy III forged wedges
The Sugar Daddy III forged wedges mark the biggest change to the PXG wedge line since they were first introduced, with the most dramatic change coming in the form of new shapes from address, plus new grind options to help fit more golfers.
But, before we get to grinds and shaping, we can’t talk about wedges without discussing grooves, and PXG (which already had some of the highest-spinning wedges we’ve tested at GOLF) has once again improved on their groove configuration by creating a tighter spacing and adding a 16th groove.
This extra groove helps to produce more consistent launch angles and spin rates as well as better results in wet conditions.
Now to the shaping and grind options.
Part of the new shaping and geometry styling of the Sugar Daddy III wedges boosts the MOI around the head by pulling mass from the rear cavities and placing it higher in the head with the help of a variable top rail. The extra topline thickness is blended into the back of the head with a tapered bevel so from address the extra mass is hidden.
The Sugar Daddy III wedges feature three grind options; the versatile S-grind, the lower bounce C-grind, and the higher bounce BP-grind in honor of PXG’s owner and founder Bob Parsons which features full-face grooves and is only available in sand and lob wedge options in lofts from 54-60 degrees.
The Sugar Daddy III wedges are available now and start at $299.99 in chrome and $349.99 in Xtreme Dark.
