“By far, Trump is the best,” Baier, a longtime host on Fox News, said. “And he’ll tell you that.”
Each of the last six presidents, Biden, Trump, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George H. W. Bush have spent meaningful time on the course before, during and after their presidencies. But Baier said Trump, who logged by far the most rounds while in office and whose organization owns several courses around the world, is far and away the best golfer among them, even going back to President Eisenhower, who was a member of Augusta National.
But Baier also revealed an interesting nugget about George W. Bush.
“He is a fast player — his dad was fast too, H. W.,” Baier said. “But he is super fast. I mean I’m talking running.”
That’s when Knost recalled being hustled by the younger Bush when he was playing a course in Dallas several years ago.
“I’m over a putt and I hear, ‘Hey Colt! We don’t play that PGA Tour pace, get out of the way!,'” Knost remembered. “It was President Bush. I’m like, ‘That is incredible.'”
