Outside the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings and having only won an opposite-field PGA Tour event last summer, Bhatia came to the Valero Texas Open needing a one to earn a trip to the Masters.
“If I win, that’s great. I mean, it gets me closer to my goal,” Bhatia said Saturday night as he sat on a four-stroke lead. “Yeah, it doesn’t mean the world to me. I didn’t grow up playing on the PGA TOUR necessarily to win just PGA TOUR events, I grew up playing and dreaming of winning majors. That’s kind of my main focus for the years to come.”
Of course, he will also get a few other perks for winning this week. He not only earned an invite to the Masters, but next month’s PGA Championship as well. He secures his status on the PGA Tour through the 2026 season too.
In addition to all of those things, he also takes home a boatload of cash. To be exact, $1.656 million.
With that, keep reading below for a complete list of the 2024 Valero Texas Open payouts for all 82 players who made the cut. The total purse is $9.2 million.
