Previewing Valspar Round 3
Twenty-eight-year-old Matthew NeSmith is still seeking his first career PGA Tour victory, but he’s making a strong case this week at the Valspar’s halfway point, posting a sizzling round of 61 on Friday to reach 14 under par overall, two shots clear of his nearest rival, Canadian Adam Hadwin (-12). The two will tee off in the round’s final pairing at 2 p.m. ET.
Just behind them are a mix of experienced veterans and hot young players. Scott Stallings, Sam Burns, and Justin Thomas are within four shots of the lead, and Webb Simpson and Xander Schauffele are six back.
Schauffele and Simpson will tee off together at 1:30 p.m. ET, followed by Justin Thomas and Davis Riley at 1:40 p.m. ET.
You can stream the entire third round via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+, or watch the telecast on Golf Channel and NBC.
