If you aren’t familiar with the name Mito Pereira, get ready — you will be soon.
The 26-year-old Chilean is in the midst of his rookie season on the PGA Tour and has already made his presence known, finishing solo third at the Fortinet Championship, in September.
On Wednesday, Generational Group — a Dallas-based investment bank for privately held businesses — announced it has signed an endorsement agreement with Pereira, a deal that aligns him with the Golden Bear himself, Jack Nicklaus.
Last March, Nicklaus formed a corporate alliance with Generational Group, which became Nicklaus Companies’ investment banking partner, in addition to helping to develop a five-year strategic-growth plan for Nicklaus Companies, plus bolstering business development for Nicklaus Design. Pereira punched his PGA Tour ticket with fine play on the Korn Ferry Tour, where he picked up back-to-back wins last June. That brought his Korn Ferry season victory total to three, earning him an instant promotion to the PGA Tour. Pereira is the first player to earn such a promotion since Wesley Bryan in 2016, and only the 12th all-time. He also tied for third at last year’s Olympic Games in Japan, just missing out on a bronze medal in a wild seven-player playoff.
Pereira’s profile is sure to rise even higher with his inclusion in the newly-announced Netflix documentary. He is the only rookie on the 23-player roster, which includes five of the top seven players in the world, and 10 of the top 20.
