The PGA Tour heads to Bermuda this week for the 2021 Butterfield Bermuda Championship at Port Royal Golf Course. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament.
Butterfield Bermuda Championship preview
This week will feel different on the PGA Tour, just looking at the field of players. As our Dylan Dethier detailed well, there will not be a full field of 132 players as we may have expected a week ago. Covid restrictions and tricky travel arrangements have made it difficult for Tour players to physically get to Bermuda. And so we are left with a field where the highest ranked player is Patrick Reed, No. 24 in the world.
But fear not! This tournament is no slouch in what it offers the players who will actually be in attendance. The field is playing for a full 500 FedEx Cup points and all the trappings that come with a PGA Tour victory. Yes, that includes an invite to next year’s Masters tournament. The current favorite is Matthew Fitzpatrick, who just recently won on the European Tour.
For those watching at home, you can strap in to TV coverage knowing that Port Royal is a golf course protected by the wind and whatever Mother Nature cooks up for the players. Wednesday’s pro-am and slate of practice rounds were already canceled due to a storm in the vicinity, so those who actually made the trip to the island country will have to lean hard on their yardage books when the tournament gets going Thursday morning.
You can find the full list of tee times for Thursday’s first round and Friday’s second round below, along with complete information about streaming the 2021 Butterfield Bermuda Championship online or watching the action on TV.
