Covid-19 may have put any purchasing ideas you had in March on hold. Now, it’s game on, and time to reassess your equipment needs. So, we’ve compiled the “Best in Show” from ClubTest 2020 to give you a refresher. These clubs are bold and beautiful, like the game itself. In this edition, we highlight Titleist’s Vokey SM8 wedge.
Why We Love It
Titleist Vokey SM8 wedge
Moving a wedge’s center of gravity higher (yes, please!) also has meant moving it farther back from the hosel, making the club tougher to square up at impact (no thanks).
SM8s, wielded by Adam Scott among others, solve this conundrum by shifting weight from topline to toe and hosel, pushing the CG forward but not lower. Huzzah!

Why I Play It
“The Vokey team put so much time and energy into the SM8 to make an even better wedge for us once again. There’s validity in what they’re doing. It’s really amazing technology. The way they’ve shifted weight around—the SM8 is at a whole new level.” — 2013 Masters champion Adam Scott
