Viktor Hovland signs apparel deal with J.Lindeberg
Top-ranked amateur Viktor Hovland is turning pro at this week’s Travelers Championship, and in addition to signing an equipment deal with Ping, the 21-year-old Norwegian inked a multiyear agreement with Swedish apparel brand J.Lindeberg.
“Signing Viktor to a long-term deal is a major step in building our brand in the coming years,” said J.Lindeberg CEO Jonas Andersson. “Viktor is an amazing talent, with a charm and ease about him that we at J.Lindeberg feel will inspire the younger player segment in the golf fashion business, on and off the course.”
Hovland is coming off an incredible run as an amateur player. He played his college golf at Oklahoma State and became the first Norwegian player to win the U.S. Amateur in 2018, which earned him an entry into both the Masters and the U.S. Open, where he claimed low-amateur honors. Additionally, at last week’s U.S. Open, he also broke Jack Nicklaus’ record for the lowest total score ever by an amateur (280). Nicklaus’ four-round total of 282 was set in 1960 at Cherry Hills. Hovland tied for 12th overall at Pebble Beach.

J.Lindeberg was established in 1996 and quickly gained a reputation as a fresh, fashion-forward brand. In addition to golf apparel, the company designs cycling, lifestyle and activewear collections. Current endorsees on Tour include Jonas Blixt, Camilo Villegas, and long drive competitor Troy Mullins.
