AT&T Byron Nelson betting odds: Favorites and underdogs at Trinity Forest

divider
May 7, 2019

With the PGA Championship just a week away, the Tour heads to Dallas this week for the AT&T Byron Nelson at Trinity Forest Golf Club. It’s the Tour’s third of four events in the Lone Star State this year.

Brooks Koepka, who finished as the runner-up at this event in 2016, is the betting favorite to win this week with 13/2 odds. Koepka is looking for his first win on Tour since coming out on top at the CJ Cup this past October. His most recent appearance on Tour resulted in a T22 finish at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans last month. The Byron Nelson will serve as the three-time major champion’s final tuneup before he heads to Bethpage Black next week to try and defend his PGA Championship title.

The defending champion Aaron Wise enters with 20/1 odds to win this week at Trinity Forest. The defending PGA Tour Rookie of the Year has not won since his 23-under performance at the AT&T Byron Nelson last spring. Wise finished tied for 18th at this past week’s Wells Fargo Championship.

Dallas-native Jordan Spieth, who is still looking for his first victory since the 2017 Open Championship, has 18/1 odds to win this week at Trinity Forest. Spieth finished T54 at the RBC Heritage last month.

The lowest odds to win this week at the AT&T Byron Nelson? Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo at 10,000/1 odds. The CBS Sports NFL analyst and commentator, who currently holds amateur status, received a sponsor’s exemption this past February to compete at Trinity Forest.

It will be Romo’s first time playing at the AT&T Byron Nelson and third appearance on the PGA Tour. He’s competed the last two years in the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship.
