Historic Bethpage Black on Long Island hosts the 2019 PGA Championship, but what are the future PGA Championship host courses?

The PGA of America changes venues for its flagship event every year, though there are certain courses the tournament revisits every decade. The list of courses for the next several years includes repeats and new courses hosting the championship for the first time. Here’s a look at the next 10 PGA Championship host courses.

2020 PGA Championship: TPC Harding Park, San Francisco, Calif.

A major championship is coming to San Francisco once again, but this time it won’t be played at Olympic Club, which hosted the 2012 U.S. Open. Instead, nearby Harding Park will host its first-ever major. Harding Park is a municipal course along the shores of Lake Merced and is owned and operated by the city. After hosting PGA Tour events in the 1960s, the course fell into disrepair. But a major renovation in 2002 returned the course to its former glory.

It has since hosted the 2005 WGC-American Express Championship (where Tiger Woods beat John Daly in a playoff), the 2009 Presidents Cup, and the WGC-Cadillac Match Play.

2021 PGA Championship: Kiawah Island Resort (Ocean Course), Kiawah Island, S.C.

The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Resort got the nod to host the second PGA Championship in its history in 2021. The course, which weaves through dunes along the Atlantic Ocean in South Carolina, previously hosted the 2012 PGA. That tournament was famously won by Rory McIlroy, which represented his second major win. Designed by Pete Dye, Kiawah also hosted the tense 1993 Ryder Cup, which came to be known as “The War by the Shore.”

2022 PGA Championship: Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster, N.J.

The PGA heads back to the greater New York area in 2022, where Donald Trump will finally get a much-coveted men’s major championship at a course he owns. Trump National Bedminster has long been considered the finest golf course in the Trump portfolio. The course, which opened in 2004, previously hosted the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open.

2023 PGA Championship: Oak Hill Country Club (East Course), Pittsford, N.Y.

Oak Hill is one of the most venerable courses the PGA Championship will be played at over the next decade. The course has hosted six men’s major championships in its history, as well as numerous other Senior, Amateur, and team competitions. It was the site of the 1956, 1968 and 1989 U.S. Opens. 2023 will be the fourth PGA Championship held at Oak Hill. The PGA previously visited the private club in 1980, 2003 and 2013.

2024 PGA Championship: Valhalla Golf Club, Louisville, Ky.

Valhalla is best known for Tiger Woods’ dramatic PGA Championship victory there in 2000. He defeated Bob May in a playoff to capture the third major of his Tiger Slam, which he would complete the following April at the 2001 Masters. Rory McIlroy won the last PGA held at the Kentucky club in 2014. Valhalla also played host to the memorable 2008 Ryder Cup won by the U.S. 2024 will be the fourth PGA held at Valhalla.

2025 PGA Championship: TBD

2026 PGA Championship: Aronimink Golf Club, Newtown Square, Penn.

The venue for the 2025 PGA has yet to be determined, but the Aronimink Golf Club outside of Philadelphia gets the nod for 2026. It will be the second PGA Championship played at the architectural gem, which was designed by design legend Donald Ross in 1928. Gary Player won the 1962 PGA at Aronimink. It also hosted the 2010 ad 2011 AT&T National tournaments, as well as the 2018 BMW Championship.

2027 PGA Championship: PGA Frisco, Frisco, Texas

In late 2018, the PGA of America announced they would be moving their headquarters from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., to a brand-new development in Frisco, Texas. Two new public golf courses will be built along with the new HQ. One of the tracks, which will be known as the East Course, will be designed by architect Gil Hanse. That course, which is expected to open for play in 2022, has already been chosen to host two PGA Championships, the first coming in 2027.

2028 PGA Championship: The Olympic Club (Lake Course), San Francisco, Calif.

The PGA returns to the city of San Francisco in 2028, where TPC Harding Park’s more-famous neighbor course, the Olympic Club’s Lake Course, will host its first PGA Championship. But the members of Olympic are not strangers to major championships. It played host to a total of five U.S. Opens in 1955, 1966, 1987, 1998 and 2012.

2029 PGA Championship: Baltusrol Golf Club (Lower), Springfield, N.J.

Baltusrol is another former U.S. Open course that now regularly hosts PGA Championships. One of the oldest golf clubs in the country, Baltusrol has hosted a bevy of major championships on its two A. W. Tillinghast-designed courses. In all, Baltusrol has hosted seven U.S. Opens and two PGA Championships, mostly on the Lower Course.

2030 PGA Championship: TBD

2031 PGA Championship: Congressional Country Club, Bethesda, Md.

The host venue for 2030 has yet to be determined, but in 2013 the PGA Championship will head to Congressional Country Club outside of Washington D.C. for the second time. Eight regular PGA Tour events have been contested at Congressional since 2005. The course has seen four major championships contested on its fairways, including the 1976 PGA. In 2011, Rory McIlroy captured his first-career major title at the U.S. Open at Congressional in dominant fashion.
