With a Black Friday flight deal from Aer Lingus, you can fly to Ireland for under $355 roundtrip
By now, you’re likely very familiar with the plethora of deals available on Black Friday for everything you could possibly want when it comes to golf equipment, tech and apparel. But what about travel?
If you’ve never been on a golf trip to the Emerald Isle, now is the time to make it happen. (Full disclosure: my husband is Irish, so I’m a biased party, but I’ve been to Ireland nearly 20 times over the last 11 years and cannot recommend a trip highly enough.) Plus, if you need extra convincing, you can find five of GOLF’s Top 100 Courses in the World on the island of Ireland: Ballybunion, Lahinch, Portmarnock and Waterville in the Republic, and Royal Portrush (the highest-ranked Irish course at No. 13, and site of the 2019 Open Championship) in Northern Ireland.
Enter Aer Lingus, the Irish airline with a “Black Flyday” deal that could save you a bundle on an early 2020 trip to Ireland. How? All you have to do is visit aerlingus.com and book an itinerary for travel between Jan. 1 and March 8, 2020, and you can save $100 off of a roundtrip itinerary in economy class, and $200 roundtrip in business class.

For a week-long, late-January itinerary, I tried booking flights from both JFK and BOS to Dublin, and my total cost was an incredible $354.57 (inclusive of the $100 discount). From west-coast destinations like LAX, the total was a still-impressive $494.77 (inclusive of the discount) — and did I mention it’s also a direct flight with no layovers?
While the weather is always unpredictable in Ireland, the good news is that, temperature-wise, it’s generally always playable, even in the colder winter months, when the averages in Dublin hover in the mid-to-high 40s. I’m an avowed fair-weather golfer, and I’ve often traveled and played during off-peak months like November and February, and if you layer up and get lucky by avoiding rain, you can play quite comfortably — especially if you opt to walk.
So, are you ready to book your Irish golf adventure? Great! But if you want to snag this flight deal, make sure you do it by Dec 3.
