It’s time to celebrate the best municipal golf courses in America. Finally, right?

In the past year, GOLF released its new and improved rankings for its Top 100 Courses in the U.S. and Top 100 Courses You Can Play lists. On top of that, we also unveiled our inaugural 100 best short courses in the world ranking. Naturally, standout municipal courses seemed like a logical next step.

So in GOLF Magazine’s June 2021 issue, we trotted out GOLF’s 30 best munis in America, which was put together by GOLF Architecture Editor Ran Morrissett and GOLF’s Top 100 Course Panelists. This list has everything — East Coast, West Coast and Midwest must-plays, bucket-list gems and uber-affordable sleepers.
