Three things to know about the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, home to the PNC Father/Son Challenge

December 13, 2018

The golf world heads to Orlando for the PNC Father/Son Challenge this weekend at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. Here’s everything that you need to know about the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, which will play host to the event for the seventh straight year.

1. The course design: The course was built in 2003 and designed by Greg Norman, who for the second straight weekend will have one of his Florida courses prominently featured. The goal of Norman’s design was to maintain the vibrant ecosystem of the area. The course features ponds, wetlands, oak trees and cypress heads, making it one of the most eco-friendly courses around.

2. The course layout: The 18-hole, par-72 course is known for having wide fairways with generous landing areas, fast greens and strategically placed bunkers. Each hole has five tees for golfers to choose from, and both nines have a pair of par-5s and par-3s. One of the most notable holes is the par-5 18th, which has a lake left and bunkers right.

3. The course amenities: The Ritz-Carlton’s clubhouse features private locker rooms, a shoe cleaning service, a pro shop and a restaurant. The club also has a golf school that offers both group and private lessons.
