December 29, 2018

Here comes the sun. The Dominican Republic is a toasty golf destination that is sure to shake your wintertime blues.

Of all the courses Pete Dye has ever designed, he’s always listed Teeth of the Dog as his favorite. There are seven great reasons why — the seven holes that practically melt into the Caribbean Sea. The color contrasts of clear, pale blue seawater, tawny bunkers and vibrant green paspalum grass combine to soothe the soul like few places on earth.

Corales was the first Dominican Republic course to ever host a PGA Tour event.

Corales at Puntacana Resort
Punta Cana; 195-$395

In March 2018, the Tom Fazio – designed Corales at Puntacana Resort served as host to the first-ever PGA Tour event contested in the DR. The cliff-top creation offers spectacular sea views and scrub-dotted sand expanses and concludes in fine fashion with a trio of closing holes called the Devil’s Elbow. The par-4 18th, with its dramatic sweep around the Bay of Corales, will linger long in memory.
