WATCH: 55-year-old Vijay Singh’s intense workout routine will make you sweat (or cry)

PGA Tour veteran Vijay Singh goes through his workout in a recent video.

Vijay Singh is a divisive figure in the game, with incredible triumphs on the course mixed in with loads of controversy. But If one thing defines Singh’s long career in professional golf over all else, it’s hard work. That was on full display in a recent video posted showing his crazy workout routine.

In the video, Singh, winner of 34 PGA Tour titles, goes through a supercut of intense weight training exercises, using a host of unorthodox tools and methods. In one scene he’s tossing a giant rubber tire to his trainer. In another, he’s swinging a sledge hammer like a golf club into an even bigger tire, followed by an array of medicine ball work.

Just writing about his workout is tiring enough, let alone watching him do it, which you can do below.

Such an intensive exercise regimen would make anyone sweat. The incredible thing is that Singh is 55 years old. He turns 56 in February.

Stories of Singh’s worth ethic are legendary, with intense days-long range session being the norm throughout his career. But why all the effort now, as age 60 awaits not too long down the road? Singh no longer plays on the PGA Tour, at least regularly, though you will find him at Augusta each year, thanks to his win in 2000.

He now plays on the PGA Tour Champions, where he’s seen a ton of success early on. He captured his first senior victory in April of 2017 at the Bass Pros Legends of Golf, and then captured three victories last season, including the Senior Players Championship.

Singh was most recently in the news when his years-long anti-doping lawsuit with the PGA Tour finally wrapped up. The lawsuit stemmed from Singh’s 2013 admission to using deer antler spray, which contains a substance banned under the PGA Tour rules. The two parties announced that they had reached a settlement in November.
