We’re just over two weeks away from the highly-anticipated showdown between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. In the meantime, the two rivals challenged each other to another “match”: a game of golf pong.
Bleacher Report dropped a video on Tuesday night of Tiger and Lefty playing golf pong to hype up “The Match”, which is scheduled for Friday, November 23rd. And if it is any sign for what is to come on Black Friday, it could be a good day for the five-time major champion Mickelson.
The 14-time major champion Woods went first, landing eight golf balls into the buckets in 90 seconds. But Mickelson didn’t back down and quiver. He sank nine balls into the buckets to claim golf pong victory over Tiger.
After winning, Mickelson said “I’ll see you in Vegas.” Check out the full video of their challenge below:

Maybe the USGA can include golf pong into the U.S. Open going forward, as it is the lone major that Lefty has yet to win in his Hall of Fame career. Golf pong could be what puts him over the top.
“The Match” between Tiger and Phil will tee off at 3:00 p.m. ET on the Friday after Thanksgiving. The showdown is being played for $9 million and will cost viewers $19.99 to stream on pay-per-view. Some of the proceeds will go to charity, and both golfers have said that they will donate a portion of their winnings to charities.
Fans will not have the opportunity to watch “The Match” in person, as the organizers have closed off the event to the public. It will reportedly only be open to VIP guests and sponsors.
According to Turner, “The Match” will be available through Turner’s B/R Live, DIRECTV, and AT&T U-verse. The pay-per-view will be also be distributed through other cable, satellite and telco operators including Comcast, Charter, Cox, Verizon and Altice in the U.S. and Rogers, Shaw and Bell in Canada.
Fans will also be able to watch HBO Sports’ “24/7” series, which will document Woods and Mickelson ahead of their clash. Bleacher Report’s “House of Highlights” platform is also expected to offer highlights and behind-the-scenes content. In addition, TNT is expected to use select content from the event in programming following the match.
